My apologies for the late report
This trip took place the day after the 2011 Striperfest and after 2 days of fishing and little sleep, I was torn up.

First off, I want to thank fishinone(Ron) and Breeze71(Hiro) for hooking me up with their leftover fresh sardines.
Fresh, compared to frozen makes a difference when the fish aren't committing suicide.

Had a friend and his son me me at the launch ramp when they opened.
Feeling pretty confident from the productive fishing the day before(Striperfest) and armed with fresh sardines and the knowledge of a couple other hot spots, we left the marina at around 7:00.
On the way out, in the main channel, we started metering a whole bunch of fish.
We anchored up in 50ft of water and soaked some bait there to see if they wanted to play.
After 20 minutes and no sign of hungry fish, we headed to the hot spot from the day before.
We set up the boat at 48ft with double anchors.
I metered a few fish and we had some very light bites but they wouldn't commit.
We metered a fish now and then and got an occasional light bite.
We sat there for 3 1/2 hrs. for one striper and a kitty.
Knowing that kpn and fishinone had some very good action the day before, we headed over that way to try to find that spot.
I couldn't quite figure out where they were at and not seeing too much on the meter, we gave TO's corner a try.
We gave it around 30 minutes and without metering any fish, we bailed and headed to where Gary and Breeze71 had their hot kitty and striper bite.
Same deal. No marks or interested fish would swim under the boat.

It felt like I was chasing the "Striped Ghost" (in reference to the white seabass)… should have been here yesterday?

Made the decision to head back to the day before hot spot and hope that the turn on since that was the only spot that we had any action
Set up in 45ft with a single anchor.
it's about 1:00 now. It took about 30 minutes for them to pick up the scent of our baits and we started getting those light bites again.
We hooked and landed few of them(stripers) and a cat or two

So my friend Santos looks up and see's a deer walking down the hill and another and another for a total of four
I say to him "I hear that's a sign of good fishing to come" and we need something to turn things around

Sure enough, they started to turn on around 3:00
Many more meter marks and more aggressive bites
Here's a shot of a nice school that swam by and chewed our baits

Santos and his son Anthony. Anthony was getting his share of hook and hand off fish from me

The later it got, the better the bite got
We fished until 5:00 before having to leave

Anthony got the biggest striper of the day
A 3lb. 7oz.
This would have taken big fish honors of the Striperfest

We ended up with 23 stripers to 3-7oz and 4 kitties to 4-15oz

After fishing this lake for two days, we had our best luck anchored at 30-50ft
No luck deeper than 60ft.
The biggest striper was a female and she was loaded with eggs
Get ready because the spawn is just around the corner
It's going to get better :Secret:

Just what i like to see, someone on the stripers. from what ive been hearing and experiencing the stripers havent been biting that well most of the time with a few exceptions. You should consider yourselves good fisherman for a day like this. And you got some kitties probably my favorite fish right up there with stripers.

Way to put Jr. On Fish Scot!

Whata fun little spot!! Its gonna be awesome when the bite opens up like that with some toads!!

I can imagine how beat up you are. I'm tore up just from saturday. The Tequila didn't help either. Btw... I think it took me a half hour to find my way out of pyramid in the dark!! Haha

I will be hitting it up again Friday or Monday. Will give update.

Soon I'm gonna be making my regular castaic runs!!
