Got up there and had lines in about 1:00pm. Slow the first 1 1/2 hours until I was able to move closer to the point and then finally caught my first fish of the day. It wasn't until 4:30 and then WFO. The six people on the point caught their limit and then it was my turn. At one time both poles are bent and I hook one then grab the other, first one jumped and spit the hook but landed the second. All stockers, I was able to release a couple of lip hooks and still brought home five for the frying pan. I guess there is a derby tomorrow and I will not be anywhere near that crazy thing. Saw a couple of small crappie and on the way out a BIG Bass in the shallows by the ball fields. No love for any artificials but PB caught everything caught that I saw all day.

Thank you for the heads up on the derby. I was planning on hitting it on Saturday, I still may go but now I may be starting much earlier then I planned.

The point gets crowed early, if it is too crowded the dam is pretty good. Best to be there by 6:00 am just to get a spot. I believe that they will be renting boats starting this weekend so that is always an option.
