Just recently started fishing the Santa Ana Riverand I'm hooked.!! Today I started at Highway 38 Bridge and worked my way down about 1/4 mile or so just passed all those cabins.. only saw 3 other guys the entire time.. caught close to 20 fish, mostly small stocked one's.. and a few baby wild trout... caught and released all of them. Started fishing about 2:30pm and was done by 6:00pm.. nice and quiet day with lots of fish. So i hear that hiking upstream from southfork bridge has wild brown trout? I noticed there are two forks of the river... Do i just follow the river from the other side of the bridge and work my way up? If anyone has any info on this i would luv to hear it.. i'm gonna try it maybe next weekend. Any issues with bears or mountain lions in this area?

You probably should have kept some of the stockers. Those things will eat the small wild ones.
