Hi everyone! It's been a while, what with the crappy weather, wind everyday, etc., but I just got a piece of good news!!
My next door neighbor, a big angler himself, tells me that he was getting his daily exercise along Bolsa Chica Bch, precisely the jetty, and spotted a 15 to 20# WSB cruizin' the rocks at high tide!!! (Thurs., April 21, 2011) This is not a guy who tells "fish stories" either! I trust him completely!
Is this the kind of action we can expect for late spring and summer?! Let's HOPE!!:Big Grin:
Anyway, just thought I would pass along the info. to all you guys!!

everytime i went to bolsa chica in the morning to fish when the water is relatively calm. I always saw a huge fish cruising around in the middle where the jetty is just over the bridge. ALWAYS, this was like last year. Maybe its that one lol, i always though it was a huge croaker or some kind of shark. but that **** always excited the hell out of me and i would always run to the jetty. I never caught it.

I believe you. In the channel on brookhurst, I always see a few juvie WSB feasting on smelt.

Sorry your post got redirected but thanks for the intel!
Some bigger models can in fact be caught in the surf or from the jetty that would make most jealous that they spent a lot of money on "Boat Fuel".
