I'm a student at University of California Riverside and I'm am going to be up in Norcal to do research on the Donner Party for my senior thesis. Are there any good lakes for shore fishing (any species)? not really looking to spend too much time up there and I would like some advice on what place is hot and what to use. Probably going to try Donner Lake but I want to see if the the Eastern Sierra trout bite can live up to its reputation. I won't really have time for huge lakes like Tahoe. Somewhere nice and convenient. Thanks for any advice!
