go to the June Lake Loop. There are 4 lakes there and a good creek. It is a good place to camp and fish without having to hike into remote areas. Opening day is coming up, so get your stuff ready. I heard the lakes are gonna be really full this year; should be great.

summer is great there. I think you can fish up there until November 1st or sometime around then. you should try and go before june though. The summer is crowded up there because it is so amazing. a few weeks after the opener during the week would be a great time...you would probably have the whole loop to yourself.

July and August are way too crowded for my tastes in the Sierras. Most of my Sierra fishing occurs before Memorial Day or after Labor Day. I chase pelagics out in the ocean during the summer.

A little hike will loose the crowds. Nothin wrong with the ocean though.
