I've passed this beach a few times and have always wondered why I don't see any kayak fishing off it. Anyone familiar with Aliso State Beach?

Launching looks ideal logistically, since the parking lot is close to the beach.

Come to think of it I haven't even seen surf fisherman.

Appreciate any comments, regarding Aliso.

I have surf fished it a few times for perch and halibut, there are also some calicos in the rocks. The only thing, especially for yakers is te big shore break. Alsio can be kind of sketchy if there is any swell.

I agree with 'oakboy' it can get some big shore breakers. I used to fish the peir before it got washed out and the rocks to the left of the beach years ago, and do pretty well.
