A friend and I picked up a boat and trailer from a CR add back in Jan. We worked on the motor a bit and got that working ok. Once we had that done we wanted to get to the water...but we had a lot of work to do on the trailer. So we spent two weeks and too much money salvaging this piece of junk. We took the boat to the Isabella Derby and had it on the lake two different days. We still have bugs to work out, but we had a ball just getting it out there and having that old 60 HP come to life. The boat restoration will take more time, but we are making some progress.

This is our project boat. Serviceable for the most part, but much to be done. You'll see more in the future...and maybe see us on the water.

Good job on the trailer and the boat looks to be in good shape. Good luck with the rest of the restore.

How did you get the boat off the trailer, other than parking it at a local lake?

Getting it off and then back on the trailer was a bit of a trick indeed. I built some stands about 4' long of 1" waffer board just a tiny bit higher than where it sat on the trailer and gave them full length kickstands. Hooked a come-along onto a handy utility pole and pulled it off the trailer and onto the stands. Then hooked it up to a utility pole on the other side and pulled it back on the trailer. It was a hassel...but it worked. I won't do it again. Next time I might try hanging it in the carport...equally tricky but would give me near full access to the bottom.

Always keeping in mind...don't do something stupid.

A couple ComeAlongs and some big trees work too.
I swapped a V8 out with a come-along and a tree once.
The neighbors were scratching there heads.
My buddy just mounted 2 - 12v hoists in his living room 4000 lb each
He Hoisted 2 Vintage Mint Honda Race Bikes up.
