Nice! I'll be heading up there in a couple weeks.

Just use Photobucket or imageshack for the images.

Where were you at in the Blythe area, if you don't mind? Are those private docks or public? By the way, those sunfish in the photos are Redears, not Bluegills.

Thanks for responding so quickly gogreenz4. Yes, that area is tops for good size Redears and Bluegills as far as I am concerned, plus it's got lots of LMB and SMB, plus maybe stripers and catfish. The Redear your girlfriend is holding looks pretty huge. Redears are usually larger than Bluegills. My wife usually catches the biggest ones too. (LOL) We usually go there around this time of year but this year my illness, taxes, family coming to town, etc. is keeping that from happening. I can't figure out where it is from your description but maybe with a map.... Anyway, we already know of several public backwater areas with awesome springtime fishing in the Blythe area.

gogreenz4, I reloaded the photos at a higher resolution and the place does look familiar, but there are more docks in the photos than I remember being there before (like last year). Also the one you are on seems a little bigger if it's the one I am thinking of. Maybe some more docks have been built there since last year.

Another thing: You mentioned in your PM that you caught several kinds of panfish. The one you can only see from the top looks like a Crappie to me, which is a pleasant surprise. I have never seen a Crappie along the Colorado River before. It's hard to tell what it is because of the angle though. For some reason, that photo didn't load before. You must have caught it on the Berkley Gulp Smelt. The Crappies pretty much go for artificials like that, and don't bite natural baits much. I even caught a bunch of Redears and Bluegills on jigs last year, but no Crappies. It's in a report in the Colorado River section of this site.
