New boat/Fishfinder Question

Hopefully someone can give me some advice. I am getting a used boat. The boat currently has a Lowrance X75 fishfinder. After doing some research, I see it's an older/discontinued model. Does anybody know anything about this unit?

Secondly, this unit has a dual transducer setup which I've never heard of. It has a transducer up front and one out back for the same unit, with a switch to switch between the 2.

If I decide to get a new fishfinder, can I use the same two transducers?

I don't have any personal experience with that unit, but from what I've heard from a lot of people is the X75 was one of the best units for its time. As far as the transducer working with a new unit... I doubt it. From the looks of it, that unit used the old uniplug type connector similar to the X96 and Eagle Fisheasy320.
