Has anyone been to Gregory lately, are the trout hitting there?

I haven't been there in over a year, sorry. I DO like this lake. For one thing it's free to fish it from shore!!! Not too many lakes out there you can say that about. I fish, mostly, trout there and I'm not a trout guy.
I did hear that some where catching a few.
They r catching a few there. They are about 1 to 2 lbers. Over by the baseball field on powebait or nc.

they did plant them a long time ago in that lake but they never took hold.

I fished the ball fields on Saturday, out on the point. They were biting Chartues (sp), I didn't have that color. Saw a good amount being pulled out. Had one of the locals fishing next to me braging how the last couple of days after the stock he had been catching his limt, going home and catching his limit again. That didn't set to well with me,I considering that poaching, but to each his own. A few people, like myself tried lures, NC's, and jigs but they were only on the PB. Went back Sunday, started at ball fields, went to dam, boat house, and ended up at the parking lot, only saw two fish caught. Guess ol "I got's my limit took them home and got's my limit again the past two days" had a little impact. Next stock I'm going to go up on the Friday and try my luck. Only one limit for me. really nice little lake.

gotta luv gregory. the baseball field is the spot wen i get my tube imma hit it up lik crazy. wen is the next stock?

I've been told that they're rearing them at the Mojave River Fish Hatchery .... so hopefully its true!!!! They did stock em back in the early 90's (I think) and every once in a rare moon u hear of one being caught... difficult for em to spawn in that lake.... but, if they stock em with regularity they may have a chance!!!
The browns are being stocked to control the overpopulated crappies. Right now the browns aren't big enough, so it may not be this summer.
I hope they drop a load or 10 at Silverwood on the way up the hill. Oh and brown's can still be caught at Gregory.
It's still poaching in my book. I think the limit on fish is PER DAY not PER VISIT.
