Bought some Unibutter from Performance Tackle yesterday to try it out in NPH. Got to Newport around 7:30 this morning and the conditions were nice, overcast, glassy water, and very quiet. My brother wasnt convinced that the unibutter would really help so he didn't use it quite yet. Tied on a 3" MC swimbait and lathered it with some unibutter, it was quite thick so I put some on the bait then smeered it on the bait with my finger. Within 15 minutes of fishing I was 2 for 3 and my brother was 0 for 1, he was convinced when I was able to catch a fish in a spot where he just fished. Fished another 2 hours or so and ended up with 4 spotties and 1 sand bass and my brother with 4 spotties and 2 sand bass, including the biggest of the day.

Hopefully next time I'll have more time on the water, could have easily caught 10+ each.

Congrats to you!

You can use the swimbaits tail to smear it on the rest of the lure.
That way you'll avoid getting it all over yourself.

Try putting your UniButter/scent in a small zip lock bag

Its makes it easy to apply to your bait without getting your hands dirty

Very nice fish!!!!

The unibutter works.....sullyfish advice is good and makes it easier to apply the sent.
