Man , while at work yesterday and seeing the fishing reports come in
about fishing in hurricanes, wind and rain i was sure glad to have a break
in the weather this morning ...
Good thing i had some sun-block in my car ... lol

Hit the same old spot today from about 9 to 12 , tossing Pearl and Big Hammer swim baits .
And guys the Bass were taking the 3in swim bait like it was a 2in grub !! ... Some hitt'en on the
drop , well others would just inhale it ... YEAH ! :Big Grin:

I had one good hit that felt heavy and started swimming towards me. So i start winding fast, and as it
gets closer i could feel some weight on the end of my line, so i lower my rod tip and swing to set
the hook !! YEAH FISH ON ........ rod bent and I'm trying to wind , but he's not having it , then this
dude starts peeling line and running to my right ..... OHHH NOOOO !! :EyePop:

And just that fast he's in the rocks and wont budge, i move over to the right a few yards and start
putting some pressure on the line, when it comes free ... YES !
Then this fish does a couple head shakes and .... BAM he's GONE !!

Oh well cant complain too much, did have some nice weather this morning and my final count was -

3 - Sandies

2 - Spotties

Good Luck out there , and here's a few pics .................................................. ................................

Hey FL , if your gonna fish the jetty with swim baits, BRING LOTS OF LEADHEADS !!
Dont get discouraged if you get hung up(its gonna happen)thats how you find the drop
offs or rocky spots , alot of bites happen at or near those spots.

Just fan cast the area , i like to cast out and let some line out so that i reach the bottom fast , slow wind near the bottom. Now, sometimes you get hit on the fall , so be prepaired ! If you feel a bite or thump in your line, just wind tight until you feel the
weight of the fish , then set the hook. If you dont get bit or feel a bite in 15/20 mins.
move on to another spot.

Like i said bring lots of lead heads , sizes 1/4 to 1/2 ounce , depending on wind/current.
I dont use scent , but i'm sure it wouldent hurt. And just to let you know , i get skunked
more times than not .......... lol

Good luck

Oh yeah , CPR...CPR
................................CATCH, PICTURE AND RELEASE !

Great Pics, LAB kick asss.

Hit the spot again this afternoon with a buddy - MTwiz .
It took a couple hours, but finally MTwiz found the fish and
started hanging Bass like there were going out of style ... lol

And after losing bait after bait i finally get a few myself .

Took one pic of the last one i landed , by far the best I've caught
from shore ... :Big Grin:

Hey I know u say CPR , but u never keep ANY of your legal size fish ??? Just wondering...

Oh theres many reasons , but to keep it short .

If I'm fishing the local Lakes , Bays or streams , it's CPR .
With the exception of stocker trout.

When I'm fishing offshore - 1/2 day to 2 day trips I'll take home a meal or two.

I I'm curious as to why you're curious MR.Wolf ??

i fished the spot on saturday. the wind killed it for me and the current was rushing. tides were low also. i picked a bad day to go. maybe i'll see you out there one day newfish!

Because i noticed a lot of guys are practicing CPR, as for me i fish my local lake and its CPR no matter what, like u said stocker trout is an exception cuz the are so sensitive, as for taking anything saltwater home, yah i would if its legal and just for that one meal or two. I know how to respect a fishery.
