Sun-mon-san antonio-pyramid -recon-missions -the old man-gets-his-stripey-on

after a month of being very busy at my regular work and projects at home ,i finally got a couple days off ,so i planned on fishing two days at san ant. but after fishing my *** off all day sun for only two fish,i decided to head home sun night and fish mon at pyramid to see whats up, i wouldf have fished castaic but im waiting till mid may before a make a run there. at san ant the shad were mostly still very deep ,with little strand here and there popping up,the stripers were up and down the water colume,roaming around looking for meat.the south end of the lake water was very clear with no shad even near the shore line,the north end the lake was stained almost perfect stripey water, just way to cold still.i got several knock downs on the downriggers but no hook ups,so i headed mid lake and south.after more time with no hits i headed back up were the mike and dan had launched,i found some schools near were i had some hits and finally got some drag screamers,the open water bite is far from being good ,i just got lucky from showing patience,after the second fish right in the same area the bite stopped i worked my way south the ramp pulled the boat out and heade home. monday after having a good nights sleep, i headed to the mid the stripers would only hit stuff off the downrigger at the thirty to forty feet,i had to work thru the twos and threes to get to fours and fives the fish are slowly getting bigger i fished mostly in the channel , the stripers are starting to get ready for the spawn,several of the male fish had the spooge sacks getting ready , carpboy would have a field day with spooge.as the day went on the the wind died down and the water got flat and it started to heat up, the stripeys moved up to the suface looking for shad,i put down riggers up and started flat lineing for fish out in the middle of the lake .the only place i didnt get action was the area near the yellow bar the muddy water coming in has that end of the lake messed up for no action.i will keep doing reports if i fish pyramid before the striperfest i want people to catch.the more epople catching the bigger the chance carpboy gets his a/s/s whipped ,,,lol,,,by the end of the month the stripey bite everywhere shold reall take off,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,troutonly

Great report.

I know a few people who fished San A that same day and didn't catch anything. I also know a few people who fished Pyramid very recently and had nowhere near the success.. You "pwned'em"
