View Full Version : S.Bay, Short Session/Short Catchin

Arrived about 7am. to a Zero tide and minimal 1-2ft. waves, to do
a little short 7-11am. Halibut hunting session.
Was actually planing on throwing the Rapala Blue Mackeral # 14
because it go's deeper than the LC, But the Large Croc was already on
the 12lb. Flourocarbon, so I figured AAAHHH !!! What the Heck, Might as
well try it http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_idea.gif Turned out ,that large Croc took me to Retrieve Speed
School http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif Just had to learn to get (trial and error) the retrieve speed to
where i could feel the wobble good http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif Both Hali,s hit just when the
retrieve speed was good.
Probably do a short Perch Session tomorrow in another area, because
conds. are Ok, for Halibut, but probably better for perch.

nice catch, I need to learn how to fish lure this halibut. I usually fish hali by live smelt.

Looks like some of the bigger models are starting to brave the shallows! To bad we are destined for some more adverse weather this weekend!
