The area is known as the "Canyon" because they dug a deep hole for the dive platform. The crappie we caught were all full of eggs too and that guy in the background is the Ronald Dean, grandson of Jimmy Dean and one hell of a crappie fishermen.

Interesting fact # 72:
I used to dive off that platform and catch the nesting bass with my teeth…
Those were the days when we had to chip the ice away from the -20 degree water just to swim…
Walked there uphill…barefoot…in the snow as well….10 miles ! no roads or cars were available then !
Back in those days I used to swim with the creator of that lake,,
His name was Bill Canyon…..
Grandson of James Canyon…Creator of the Grand Canyon..
Remember I fish……therefore I lie ! : )
