Fished the boiler rocks Friday the 3rd just north of Monarch Beach in Dana Point. We picked up 10 Calico Bass in about an hour and a half on live sardines. 15-20 feet of water, fly-lined. Nice sized bass, all were legal and some were pushing 3lbs. 8)

Sorry no pics :(

i concur...i miss the days of not being able to sleep all night, excited about fishing the pier the following day. I would walk for MILES from my house to cabrillo beach pier, butt *** early. If the mackerel were biting, wooooo hoooooooooo!!!!!! And omfg, if the bonita were biting off the breakwall...........I was in big game heaven.....the good ole, care free, no responsibility days....damn you kev!!!

I think that's the main reason why we use toy rod reel setups now.
