I was thinking about taking some 2 inch skeeter eaters to the pier.. I read that they can tolerate very saline waters, which leads me to believe they can survive at the very least 20 minutes. http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/ab ... alCode=jfb (http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1095-8649.1983.tb04720.x?cookieSet=1&journalCode=jfb) And this link seems to further my idea.
Im gonna try this and get back to you guys, but would still prefer your two cents. (and no, the guppies WONT breed and create a hazard to the beach) I was thinking they would be a novel bait for the bonito.
The abrupt change to 100 percent seawater wight kill them though..
