Kern river and lake Isabella April 1 update

The kern continues to be stocked weekly. Flows are up and water is murky. Most fish are holding tight to the banks. Fishermen did well last 2 days.
Lake Isabella has been rising 6 inches a day. The level is now up to the old cemetery. This area and the submerged river channel are getting a lot of attention. No reports yet on how they are doing. Ill Try to stop later for a first hand report.

After stopping at a few spots, trout and catfish near the mouth of the river, crappie on the cages in Kissack cove in the south fork

Kern almost hitting 3,000 cfs... I was there Tuesday and did good regardless of the flows.

I just came back from kern,fished uper kern and the mouth of isabella
only thing i caught was bunch of sucker fish and 1 trout from camp #3
suckers were released,save the trout for the dinner.
