With the weather lookin good, beach lookn solid, couple days off, how could i resist.

water clarity - murky but with good color, the way i like it
surf - 11second sets, 2-4ft
temp - felt like 58-60 at times
tactic - dropshot
count - 8 halis

as much as I like LCs and fishin them, there is somethin about feelin that telltale tap of a confident hali that thinks shes got a free meal right before you set the hook.
between both days, scored about 8 halis, only 1 legal. missed as many bites as well, 2hours each day
all released
enjoy the pics

Thanks for the report dude. I'm gonna see if I can put a hurting on some flatties here at the Del Mar beach on MCB Camp Pendleton. Dusted off the old surf fishing gear, got a set of waders, new drop shot set-up and PMA (positive mental attitude). All I need now is fish hahaha

Awesome job Nick !
The DS definately the way to find them during the spring transition when they are still hesitant to come up off the bottom and chase a bait. Your report shows that for sure. I agree with you on that telltale thump and the anticipation during the moment when you let them chew before crossing their eyes. Gotta love it!
I might be heading down to the southbay on saturday myself. I'm pretty sure where you have been sticking them but a PM would be nice....LOL
Thanks for the report brotha!

Always good to make it out and even better when you get in to some fish. Hopefully there will be many more to come this season. The weather has finally backed off and it is the time when the fish up… Good job out there. Thanks for the report.

Bones,

Good luck out there tomorrow. I should be able to fish next weekend. I should be able to fish next week .I will call you.

Nick,

Nice day pounding the surf!

1 legal to 8 is not a bad ratio but then again 8 flatties in a session is a very productive day!

Bones does well on his own so don't give into his pressure to lead him to that spot or there will be none for the rest of us!
