I recently passed White Water Creek on the 10 East just in between Morongo Casino and Palm Springs. I was interested if anyone has every fly fished this piece of water. The California Fish and Game does not stock this water. Water is flowing heavy out of it now, just didn't know if there was any trout way up in the canyon.

The trout hatchery closed about 4 or 5 years ago. A lot of the area around the stream is now a nature preserve. If you drive up the canyon about 4 miles (to the end of the road) you will come to an information center that can tell you if any of the area is open to fishing.

Been there.....done that. Pretty much fishless since the hatchery closed.

Right on. I had read the hatchery had closed, was just hoping they planeted some there. Figured it was fishless. Thanks everyone.

You can't hike from the bottom because the Indian Reservation does not allow any access. You are very accurate that you can reach the headwaters from Forest Falls but it is a grueling hike in and out and best not done in one day.
