Took a last minute fishing trip with Dennis. The washed up jellybean was finally able to convince me to take my boat out after NOAA downgraded its swell forecast to 3 to 5 foot from 4 to 6. NOAA should have kept it 4 to 6 because it was definitely a minimum 6 ft out there in the morning. It was kind of iffy on my skiff, but do-able with the swells being so far apart. I wanted to drift some halibut holes but Mike did not have any bait over at In-Seine. Bass fishing would be near impossible with the large swells, so I opted on the old reliable rockfishing. I headed down to my spots around the redondo canyons that I don't to get to fish too often. It was excellent. We caught some of those beautiful bright colored vermillions that frequent the area. I also made a stop by the Bank Perch Money hole. Looks like no one has fished this structure in awhile because the bank perch were supersized. Hit up various spots for some santa marias and jumbo barberpoles to mix things up. Ended the day with some C&R shallow water vermillions and chuckleheads. Limit style codding with proofs that I was seasick all day:

Dennis may look innocence but he has broken or damaged something on every trip. Thanks again for not putting the stern buoy out and scratching up the boat. Can't wait til what you'll do on the next trip.

Next stop, the barberpole rocks. Only problem here is the green spotted rockfish likes this rock too.

Fish Biologist Dennis showing me how rockfish mate and the only reason why the green spotted comes up with the thing out of their mouth...is because they are horny.

After we got tired of the barberpoles, we stop by the Bank Perch Money Hole. Jumbos only.

Here I am with a double bankie. Dont let the eyes deceive you, the swells were large. I surf'd my way back in.

Special rockfish delivery for my mom.

That's all. Had a great time even though I was feeling like the color of my grundens. Dennis is Ka-noob. See you all next time, preferably not rockfishing.

Awesome report dude!! You should start your own charter business cuz you're putting the cattle boats to shame with the quality you're producing. Cheers
