Caught this beautiful native rainbow yesterday on a hike in trip in the San Gabriel mountains. I got her on a creek that has never been stocked so this is as native as they get. The picture really doesn't do the fish justice, it looked pretty cool. :EyePop:
Great fight on 2lb test and ultralight rod. Fish was caught on a single barbless hook and safely released to fight another day. I usually don't even take them out of the water but had to get a picture of this one.
Get out there and do some exploring. I've had great success all over the San Gabriel mountains this year.

Use wet hands or a net made for releasing fish without damaging slimecoats (http://www.themeasurenet.com/index.htm).

I'm still undecided on the nets. I have one but it can still be rough on the fish for various reasons.
