headed up this friday morning to my fav spot for some early dry fly fishing. Got to the trail around 9am and already saw some hikers heading up. I followed up the trail and managed to fish some up stream action but no bites. So I continued up the trail head looking for some deep pools. Threw some Wulff patterns i have been tying had some risers but no takers. Headed down and hit some pools i spotted on the way up.

I put on a Black Fly hackle pattern i tie and finally got a good hit but no hook up. I decided to drag the fly under water and guess what FISH ON !!!!
First Brown for the season.

awsome fish man great job

i have a question tho why is it that every time some one reports on the native fish the fish are so small. is it due to the size of there streams or something like that?

Fantastic job, Chuck. I'm sure you have a bunch of guys on here being very envious. I know I am.
The fly gear is definitely coming out now.

You are somewhat correct about the size of the stream. Also the amount of forage that is available. The little suckers fight hard though. Nice Fish!
