After deciding not to rockfish cuz conditions were not the greatest for my boat. We decided to head back into harbor n make the best of it. The fishing was great, nothing big but plenty of them. We fished south of Nado bridge all day. Between my gf and myself we ended the day with 50 spotted bass give or take a few. 10 halis no legals all except 1 were between 19' n 21". All halis caught on very good chovies. Also caught a 2' Leopard and i believe 1 sargo. Never caught one so not sure on that. Not many pics, to much fun going on. All spotties between 10" n 14".

Wow those are some impressive numbers. Sounds like you and your GF slayed them. Did you catch all the fish on chovies? WTG Might have to check that harbor out sometime.

I think the fish in the second pic is a black croaker? Doesn't look like a sargo because of the downturned mouth. Sargos look more like a perch.

Thanks for sharing

Thanks. Majority of the bass were caught on various gulp plastics. We went thru a couple packages then they just shut off and would only bite the live bait.

Definitely not like any sargo I have seen. They only have that single white stripe and as Jaysuuun said the mouth is wrong!

Sounds like a great day on the waters!
