ANYONE BEEN TO THE PIER THESE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS? I KNOW ITS BEEN WARM SO I'M HOPING THAT SOMETHING OTHER THAN CRABS ARE BITING. I WENT LAST MONDAY AND NOT ONE FISH WAS CAUGHT THE ENTIRE NIGHT. BUT WAS ABLE TO SNAG A COUPLE OF SPIDER CRABS. :Secret:

air temperature means nothing when it comes to the pacific... It's water temperature you should pay attention to. it could be 100 degrees F at the beach, and the water could be hardly over 60, even in summer, especially in deeper areas.

65 is the magic number.

I Disagree !
Hot weather brings out beachwalkers which improves the fishing experience.

I hit Newport pier the last couple of Sat. nights and was skunked other than the spider crabs. Hope it turns around soon!
