Here's a quick little trick! no pictures necessary. A good way to increase the flash on your krocodile spoons is to intentionally scuff them up with coarse sandpaper! Try it!

here's How i do it-- scuff the Kroc in an "X" movement, this will cause a cross-hatch effect.

Just.. don't do it to a prism flash

Thanks for the tip.

What about the small red plastic bleeder ? (I have been cutting them off)
How about the swivel ? (I take them off too)

The only thing I add is a Sure Set hook. Other than that, Krocs work for me.
I might try the sandpaper, though. Nice mod.

I usually remove the blood tags, they cause nothing but problems for me.

The swivels bother me as well, I never really saw a reason for them to be there! They just get in the way..

What's the point, when you have a split ring on already?

The swivels cut down on line twist. IMHO

The swivels cut down on line twist. IMHOThat's true, if you're trolling them.

however, that's not much of a problem if you're just tossin it out..

The swivels cut down on line twist. IMHO

All my line twists problems disappeared after switching to 15 lb braid
(same diameter as 4 lb).
That's on a spinning reel. After changing 6 - 8 lb mono every month or so fishing 3 - 4 times a week in SW earlier this year for 1 - 3 hours after work.

Switched to 15 lb Spiderwire $20. Same line 6 months now.
Casts farther too. Love it now. Saves money and time. Less lost lures on rocks also.
