Decided to hit the beach for a few hours this morning.
I arrived at 7:15 to really nice weather.
The swell was about 3-5 feet, every 3-5 seconds.
The surf was small, maybe chin high at it’s peak.
Water temp was probably 56-57 degrees.
High tide would be 4.6 at 9:05.

When I started throwing I knew it would be rough with the surf breaking at the shore. It would be even worse when after my first 10 casts I got nothing but salad.
I was using an LC 110 in Anchovy. I had 12 pound P-Line and was using my Saros 2500 on a Ugly Stick Inshore rod.
I would make my way South for about ½ and hour when I finally get my first fish;

SWEET!
A legal halibut for March!
It taped out at just under 23” and after I took out the hook, I set it back in the water.
It would be about another half hour before I landed another fish;

I think it was about 5-6 inches.
I ended up staying till 10:15, when I called it a day.
Not a bad day…..

Take Care All,
Robert

Nice report. Got to love dealing with that swell. Nothing like some whitewash busting up under your jacket .

Robert:

Nice job with the CPR legal flattie ... plus in pics #1,#2,#3 nice shot of your hand/arm:-) Unfortunately Famous Ticketz, my mama BSP today got too excited when I had to remove the hook she took very deep and gave premature birth to about 15-20 young-ins ... rest in peace babies:-( Really bummed out, but what can u do? ...

Well, if it isn't a legal white sea bass, it's a legal halibut instead!!
Good job Robert, looking forward to fishing with you soon!

Robert,

There is a function in photo bucket or any other picture editor to rotate the pics 90 degrees! But then again I am sure that you were still disoriented from jumping head over heals with yet another legal in adverse conditions!

Be careful with your picture backgrounds as the "SWAT Commanders" are very well versed at looking at the sand and rocks and will soon swoop on that location!

Great job on yet another legal flattie! Hope to get out there with you soon!
