Was at the Pudd and saw this beautiful fish caught and released.

Is that carp, koi, or goldfish?

That's a beautiful fish. It's amazing to see one that big survive in the wild, I'm sure herons and comorants would love to gobble it up.
Carp and koi are basically the same thing, koi are derived from strains with more color. Selective breeding and eventually the super colorful koi come out. However, koi will still produce babies that look just like any other carp, with a few colored ones. Breeders typically throw out the 'normal' looking ones, raise the colored ones.

you were right chuck(vivid)thats the one ,we kept seeing hanging out.i cant wait to see that pearlwhite, with the reddesh/orange back.id love to see that one pose ,for a picture..ill be out tommorrow early see you all then...mike the pmb....
