Anyone know what time the pier closes? also i have heard you dont need a fishing license while fishing off the pier. is this true?

pier closes @ 12am no license needed.
FYI- mackerel bite is WFO ALL THE TIME!!!

wheres the mack bite at? the end of the pier? i went the other day and didnt get any macks but got some queen fish and smelt.

i was there last night, i couldnt bait my hook fast enough.... SOOO many mack twords the end of the pier. I got about 20 in 20 minutes.. good fiiishing..

Have macks been biting at certain hours or all day long?
I'm probably taking my newb friends out tomorrow trying to plan when from when.

:shock: We've been there WAYYYYY past 12 am.... in fact we were there tonight til just after midnight and people were still shuffling in. Last night we were on shore til 3 am and could see plenty of people fishing on the pier. Someone told us that the pier does not close because boats from the oil rigs are constantly coming in throughout the night. Who knows if that's true??... but it's been nice. :tired:
