Friday Roll Call

Making my first trip to irvine since 2004 tomorrow. It will be a late arrival (9:30 am or so) but hopefully if any FNNers are there I always like to give a shout out and put a face to some of the names I see on the board (and possibly get some tips).

I'm thinking of going straight boat rental and doing laps all day and hopefully not leave there with a stripe on my back. Planning on tugging firetiger rapalas and some other items mentioned here. I think I'll leave my 12" AC's at home though.

Basically heading into this place Stevie Wonder style aka blind as a bat. If you see 2 guys that look way too big for a rental boat, that's likely me and my bro so give a holler.

The trip was interesting to say the least. Caught 1 that went 4 lbs, my brother lost one that was much bigger right at the boat and then I lost one that I had on for about 4 minutes or so, but never saw it.

It is absolutely hilarious farming a fish in front of people...the cheers and jeers are great. It was definitely an experience trolling baby rapalas with 3 lbs test but that was the way we got our bites. We were using 6 lbs earlier in the day, but nothing was happening.

My bro got a pic of the me with my fish but the chances of me every seeing that are the same as him paying me back money I've lent him over the years. Besides, a single shot of an average model Irvine fish isn't enough fish porn to get anyone off here.

I'll definitely be back sometime this spring and hopefully get a couple more.
