Where is a good place in CA to catch stripers and what are the best lures for them??? thanks

Castaic lake from July-October is pretty good with top water lures, try zara spooks or poppers, most fish will run 2-8lbs, in september you can fish schools of boiling fish, but you must have a boat they move around a lot.

Diamond Valley Lake is a great Striper lake...

Most of the larger so cal lakes hold stripers (Pyramid, Skinner, Castaic, Silverwood, ect.)

I've yet to land one worth talking about so my lure selection wont help you much. I would go back through the fishing reports for the lake you choose to fish and just start reading! There is a lot of great information that somebody already took the time to type up.

If you're crazy enough you could trek up north to SF and fish the bay for those guys.

follow the board....you'll be able to get some ideas, slow right now but Pyramid will produce #'s right now but smaller grade..

Be patient...things are gonna rip wide open with some steady weather....ask then.. I'll give ya suggestions
