Headed up to lytle creek sunday morning around 10am. Was very warm and sunny compared down in the valley.
Went to my usual places first did not see any fish rising and no bites on the dry Wulff pattern I tied. So I proceeded up the creek to the next area. Finally saw a fish splash before i even tossed in the fly. Worked that spot for few minutes and no fish. Headed upstream and finally got one to bite but off before in hand. 4 more fish hooked but not landed. Finally got 1 in hand and released

Then after that session decided to drive to another local Stream

The traffice was bumper to bumper on the road up to the spot. So i decided to fish the lower area after waiting for the crowds to leave.

Fished all the pools ( 13 of them were made by man ) then after the pools FISH ON in the natural area untouched by man go figure? nice size rainbow 6" . worked more upstream no bites. Sun gave way to shade so i fished downstream and had one very small fish come up in the bubble zone and try to take my hopping skating fly.

All in all good day ... where can you fish 2 streams in same day and catch fish on the fly during February?

I see you fished at the Concreate thing. Good job. It is deep and holds alot of fish. if the fishing is slow, try green power bait and it never fails. I think they still stock that place but dont put it in their weekly schedule for some odd reason.

:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL: I've got nothing against whatever method people chose to catch fish and I know you don't either but I got a good laugh about the "playdough" comment. It just made me remember when my kids were young and hard it was to keep them from playing with all the power bait.

Yup nothing wrong with "playdough" just thought it was a funny comment to make on a thread talking about fly fishing. I never get dunking dough in a creek though.

I saw a dead catfish floating in there one time. some one let it go in there after getting caught at the Mountain Lakes Park there.

I may have to plan to go out there sometime. Looks like the streams I used to fish when I was a kid back east.

Lytle creeek could rival any of the good trout streams rivers here in SoCal if it wasn't for all of Rialto doing their laundry in there... Anyways, if you want some little wild bows at you got to do some hiking, just be careful, or you may come back to a chassis on blocks...Place is sketchy to leave anything valuable too long.
