Went out to Fairmount on Sunday 2-27 from 8 till 12 noon for a stinker. The lakes were perfect on Wed when I caught that 2 lbser but now they are Choco milk again since the rain. Water was really cold and so was the air temp. I went outthere with Tree who also got the skunk and met a fellow FNN'er out there for the first time(Mestre909). Oh well maybe nexttime.

Poop on the stinker. lol. We'll get bit once the water clears up and the temps go up.

I think that 's about the toughest cond. there is ( cold chocolate water & cold front ). But in this season transitional period ( my way of saying winter to prespawn ), I 've seen bass caught with rattletrap type lures. Nice one too. So just count on being lucky and go fishing again, and again.

Lots of work has been done to the park over the last year. During the day you don't see any tweekers and homeless people. They have put up posts along the road side so that you can't park in the dirt anymore since they made new parking lots. Also I counted 3 police cars patrolling the park in a matter of 4 hours....I guess they are really trying to clean it up....oh yeah and there was guys cleaning all the palm tree branches and floating debris out of the lakes.

Sparky70 has got a tweeker hang-up. It's like bassgrabber said. I have been fishing this place since 1985 and in the last 4 or 5 years, I have seen a huge change. It's not a scary place any more. Just don't dress like a banger and go and fish and enjoy it. I run into more tweekers at Circle K. They're harmless anyway.

I have never had a problem there at all. One time I even had a homeless/tweeker take a pic for me and he was cool...he didn't even ask for money....lol.

Castle... If you are talking about that big fish on the far right pic, that's a Redear. I don't think I have ever caught a hybrid sunfish. If you or anyone wants to see "My Page" at BigBluegill.com, go to:

Pretty cool stuff here. Lots of photos, and great discussions....
