went up the road again, got to fish one short session thursday afternoon pre-storm to the fishing hole. got there to find the res level three feet lower than last week, really messing up the bite.patrick was with me but he was tired from the days work ,he caught a few , but of coarse with him if it isnt a pig he's not happy. mean while i was non stop on those little spotted cricket killers,,,lol,,,i really had to work the pockets to get any action, i will be glad when the dwp gets done with there work and fills my fishing back up,,,,,,,,,,T/O,,,,,,,,,,

I'm with you Bob. Never keep a brownie if I can help it and I am educating my little ones to do the same. They are not only the prettiest fish, but the only true trophy fish up there and the numbers just aren't there to warrant it. They are too far and few between catches. I do catch a lot of them in the catch and release section of the Lower Owens, but that speaks for itself. I and many others each year have caught some trophy rainbows, and cuts for that matter, up there but I am still looking for the trophy Brown. There is a reason they aren't caught a lot!

They say the next real trophy brown will come out of Grant lake because there hasn't been one caught there in years. But I say maybe PVR. I know they have to be there. Bet there is some monsters in Convict too. What do you think?

Look at the colors on those fish! They look healthy. Must be great to live near a fishery like that. Cool report!

nope mike the big browns get caught there alot ,a friend of mine is the manager at a sports chalet,he has a cabin at the june loop ,but the only lake he fishes is grant,i fished with him once a while back ,it is so sick you have never seen so many big brown fish. the only deal is is doesnt broadcast anything ,he fishes with one lure and thats it,out of a canoe in the early evenings he got his batteries for his trolling motor and graph, ive fished many places and many ways but nothing like his deal, hes been doing
it for forty years ,so its automatic for pig slayin,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,pvr, crowley, southlake all have big browns,,,,,,,,,,

With winter reports being so far and few between, it was like water in the desert to read your report. Thanks for the jones fix, amigo..

I just hope I don't read about the next 15 lb trophy brown coming out on powerbait and ending up on the fillet table like last years WON issues from May...C&R those beauties everybody!
