Tubing for Halibut... Locs?

Anyone here care to share some spots that may produce legal Hali's from a tube? I used to tube Cherry Beach, does that place still produce? It was major red tide last time I checked it out... I know the harbors hold a few but I haven't seen a legal one pulled from there...

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Me and a couple guys from the site went out and fished Newport last Friday night in our tubes. One of the guys I was fishing with hooked a couple of legal halis between the coast gaurd station and the mouth of the harbor.

Legal halis are in newport bay...you just got to find them!!!

there are no legal halibut inside the harbor. that's why you should never ever ever fish there

Thanks for the tips, maybe just a little more patience in NPH. I guess the reality is I need to look for the Halibut rather than catching the stray ones where the the SBB are hanging out.
