The weather forecast may have kept some of our anglers in bed this morning and boy did they miss out on a good day of fishinig. The weater never materlized with just on occasional drop of rain and very little wind. Guys where hammering the fish today and the scales where kept very busy with fish in the 3-5lb range! Trollers, bait and wait and plastics all accounted for their share of fish today.

Tim Hunt of Norwalk landed this 8.10 Rainbow Trout while splitshotting a power worm whacky style in the Santiago Flats. For those of you not familiar with whacky rigging it involves hooking the plastic worm in the middle of the worm instead of the nose of the bait.Congratulations to Tim on his first place finish.

Ed John of Tustin falls just short of first place with this 8.2 Rainbow Trout. Ed was fishing a nightcrawler from the West Shore when the big bow bit.

James Smelt from El Dorado Sportfishing checks in this 7.10 Rainbow Trout while trolling a MC Minnow near Trout Island.

Tim Rhodes of Tustin cracks the top four with this 6.2 Rainbow taken while trolling a Shad Rap. Tim was fishing with Booyaa Clothing Member Kevin Jaimeson and is part of Team Booyaa. Thanks for the raffle prizes guys we do appreciate it.
Anthony Dauilla of Huntington Beach rounds out the top 5 with his 6.0 Rainbow Trout taken while trolling a Firetiger Rapala mid lake. All of Anthony's family members have qualified for the Masters Tournament (his mom, dad and brother)! Will it be his turn? We will find out come Monday afternoon.

Finshing in 6th place is none other than Mark "Big Daddy" Christoph of Indio with his 5.14 Rainbow Trout. Mark's fish fell victim to a CD 05 Firetiger.

The bite is still going strong guys dont waste an opportunity at a chance at the Masters Tournament by staying at home. The big fish are on the chew and the next bite could be the one that gets you in. Bait guys the Crawlers and the new Berkley Mice Tails are really working well. For the trollers its the same thing as I have been saying from day one CD 05 Firetiger Rapalas and SC shiners in gold/orange and Bubblegum. For the plastic guys it has been all about split shotting and drop shotting a plastic trout worm or casting a mini jig.
Really hope this weather we had today holds out over the next few days because the big fish bite could get medieval if it does! All i can see is I hope I get to see you at the scales in the next few days!!
