I'm no tackle Ho, others will chime in.

Dorado is one of the coolest fish out there. Seeing them jump at 30 mph is a sight to remember.
You have to take a pic right away because they lose the vivid color real fast.
Fastest growing too. They live only 3 - 4 years. 20 lbs in one year.

Dorado are veracious eaters, as stated they grow faster then any other fish in the ocean, so need to constantly feed.
I have had them hit trolled rapalas, Irons, live bait, and chunk bait....
In a very warm year they do come as far north as San Diego area, Mostly following the bait.
You will get them paddy hoping and trolling when the water currents are warm..
Otherwise you have to travel Way south..
They become a pest fish at Cabo, at times.
I have had days at Cabo where my Son & I caught nothing but Dorado and filled the boat daily.
Just drifting bait & Rapalas etc...
I hope your not planning to catch them this weekend locally??? Aint gonna happen!!!

Oy, Oy, OY!!!
2 years ago, we were catching them at Catalina Island.
Like Nessie said, they attack everything.
It's not uncommon to pull in 15-20 in just a couple of hours down in Cabo.
You will never forget the first time you reel one in that weighs at least 20 pounds, very fun fish to fight.
