fish finder

hello guys just got a bass boat today can you tell me whats a good fish finder just starting out. don't need something that costs to much something that's good for people that just starting out. one for the panel maybe 5"screen and what you thing for the front of the boat on the trolling motor. anything will be helpful thank you.:Fishing Hole:

There are a few finders that can be had at a pretty good price. If you could find one, the Lowrance X96; Eagle Fishmark 320 and 480 are good bets. I'm sure Humminbird has a few also, but I can't recall the model numbers off the top of my head. Congrats on the new boat! What boat did you get?

I have the Humminbird 570 and it works pretty well. I would like to get the Hummingbird 718 for the same price though. Both cost $200 at Bass Pro. Here are the links:

got a 2000 Champion think of going with he Lowrance X96 for the front. checked the ratings on basspro shop that's the best 5 of 5 star rating

The X96 is a very good unit. I used one for a year on my tube before I upgraded to the X510C and I have no complaints so far. Also, if you haven't done so already, you can download an emulator for the X97 (similar to the X96) from the Lowrance website. Doing this, it's like playing with the actual unit but on your computer so you can familiarize yourself with all the functions before you install it.
