Pvr pit 1/27-2/5

What up fellow fnn’ers? Excuse the lack of details as I just got back yesterday and am watching the “bowl” as I write this up (this halftime shows f’n blows) Went up north to chase some tail, bag a few browns, and put in some recon time at PVR and the Owens. I stayed at the “Pit” campground, from January 27 thru February 5, and damn was it cold a few nights, I’m talking in the teens boys…All and all it was a great trip. Literally lost track of the day a few times, drinks were flowing, guitar was rocking, fire was roaring and the fish were biting. Weather was sour a few days, but clear for the most part. Caught over 100 fish with probably 20-30 browns bagged, no bs’n… The daily routine was to wake up, cook breakfast and fish from about 10am until sundown, and some days, a few hours after that (going for the big brownies). Fish were caught on everything from lures, plastics, flies, powerbait to nightcrawlers. The most successful being lures, crawlers and transparent & pumpkin jigs. Had a few doubles as you will see in the pictures below, with the biggest fish of the trip being a 2-2.5lb rainbow. There’s two stocking photos, the one taken further away is the planting of the tagged fish for the winter derby (which I entered, but no dice) and the other, taken feet away from the truck, different day, was just f’n ridiculous… me and a off duty DFG officer easily landed 30-40 fish (all bows). If you read this, waddup Larry?? (I want my hat back! lol) They hit every lure in the box. It was so “open” I reeled in the bait pole and was putting on lures that I hadn’t yet caught a fish on, to easily validate the purchase…on a side note though, I highly recommend, and in the future, will only be staying at the Mountain View motel on W Line street. Dude Danny that works there was super cool. Good conversation, friendly, down to earth, just a reely (pun intended) pleasant experience all around...we even traded a few fish for a much, much needed shower…check it out boys…and hit me up if you have any questions…thanks for reading… and yeah, don’t mind the arrowhead that I knapped when I was bored baitin and waitin…hahah...and yeah, i got respect for all the ninja fisherman on the board! Thanks for the report, I've got the itch to get up there. I've stayed at Mountain View Motel a few times, and it's my favorite place to stay as well. The staff have always been accomodating and very nice.

glad you guys dug it....plenty of bows while the browns were holding deep and on the windblown points...idk if you saw if one of the pics, but the water is realllllllly low right now, but there still in there....good luck up there, catch a few for me!
