The past 48 hours at the Vine have been incredable! The big fish parade coming to the scales has been nothing short of amazing. Quality fish after quality fish continue to be weighed in at the pace that this report is acutally 24 hours late! A stunning seven fish in the last 48 hours have been weighed in that eclipsed the 8.0 mark! And those are the ones that where checked in!
Leading the way was little Derek Weise of Hunitgton Beach with his monsterours 14.04 Rainbow Trout! The big bow ate a Pink Thomas Bouyant fished in the Flats.

Not only did he land the above fish but he checked in a stringer that weighed in at 27.02 lbs. Thats a 5.4oz average! Only Irvine Lake stocks that kind of quality fish!

The bass fishing is starting to wake up to and guys are finding their quarry biting on dropshot and other deep water presentations. Pictured is Manas Malckini of HB with two nice sized specimans.

Mind you this is very early in the year and the fishing is just starting to get good. Irvine Lake is strictly a catch and release.
Trout anglers are engouraged to come check out the new Berkley products that are only available at Irvine Lake right now! We have the new Gulp Pinched Crawler and the Mice Tails in stock and ready to go! Shore bound anglers have been doing well with the above mentioned baits as well as nightcrawlers, garlic powerbait, and gulp doughs. Trollers have been doing well on SC shiners in gold/orange and Bubblegum along with the Firetiger Rapalas.
It looks like we are getting into full gear here at the lake and I cant believe the fishing right now. With even bigger stockings coming and some big news on the horizon! Check out Vinelines post regarding the Presidents Day Tourny is all I need say! So spool up with some fresh light line guys! These fish are ready and chewin!
