Fished Perris this afternoon from 3 til dark from shore. Did pretty good, the spot I was fishing from was about 10 feet above the water so I could see into the water....anyways, I fished the drop shot and a jerk bait for about an hour for nothing. The whole time I could see a shadow what looked like a huge bass. Then as it got clearer it turned out to be a massive carp, then about 20 minutes later I seen 4 bass, for sure, just cruising the area I was fishing. It was about 7 feet deep at the most and the water was clear and glassed over. I first seen 3 smaller fish between 2 and 3 1/2 pounds. Then a couple seconds later I seen a massive bass that was pushing 6 lbs if not more. I figure the 3 bass were the males and the larger one was the female. This was about 5 o'clock when I seen the fish. I called a friend up told me to switch to a fly lined senko and that was the ticket. I casted out and watch my bait fall right in front of the fish and the bass devoured it, i set the hook, ZZZZZZZZzzzzz fish on! On the second cast, it went 2-1. Then I changed angles and casted out again, same result, i was hooked up into another that went a little over 2 and 1/2 pounds. It was weird to see the fish cruising like that, I wonder if this warm weather is tricking them into a prespawn mode. Will post pics in a second, they are first person pics sorry for the bad quality (cell phone).
