Half Day?

I've fished Irvine many times but still haven't been out to Corona. Have been planning on making it out there and will be in the area today. I usually like to get a full day on the water when I go out though and in this instance will only have a few hours. Is it worth trying it out or should I go when I can devote a whole day?
Should I be renting a boat there (always do at irvine)
