There were alot of sea gulls!
oh yea. we caught the feeshez tooo!
EDIT!! HERES THE REPORT
Snoozed the alarm clock again a few times. Ended up rolling into SARL at around 6:20 and got my first line in at 6:30. Fished next to a buddy, Scott, and his buddy Vince. When I rolled up they hadn't caught anything yet so I guess my 30 minute snooze didn't make me miss out on much! FOR THE WIN! =)))
Tossed my lines out, got back in my car and as soon as I finished praying for my breakfast which I was about to eat, I look up and my bobber is acting out of its normal "sway in the wind" motion.
I put my hot pocket down and I run outta my car to my pole. As I run I see my bobber shoot for the skies! HOOK SET!
FISH ON!!!
Gave a good fight and brought to shore the first fish of the day, a solid 2.5 lb fish on the digi!!
SWEET! Nice tailwalker with full tail.
I thought the bite was going to be great from there, but that was the only bite all 3 of us had for the next couple hours.
Bite was pretty slow in the morning, we pretty much just sat there chit chatting about ocean fishing, but right around 9 a.m. things started heating up!
At first they were just bumping into our lines, causing us to jump up all excited for just a tease!
But when they decided to start eating, it was ON!!!
Bobbers were flying left and right!!!
Either me vince or Scott were on a fish at any given time! With multiple doubles!!!
One time Scott was fighting a nice tail walker and I had to run and reel in his other rod. As I picked it up the line started shooting out
O_O
"Did you cross this one Scott?"
"I don't know."
"your fish is going right, this line is going left.... Hey I'm going to set the hook on it"
Closed the bail. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! Didn't even need to set the hook! FISH ON! Double hook up!
Both fish that came in were 3 lbers!!
In fact aside from 1 fish that ran around 1 lb, all the fish we caught today were over 2 lbs on the digi, and we had about a dozen or so go 3 lbs or over!!!!
(not no fisherman's "3lb", actually digital scale 3 lb!!!LOL)
This lasted for about an hour or an hour and a half, which brought us pretty near our limits. The bite slowed down from there and we had sporadic hits here n there, enough to finish off our limits and give some trout off to people who were less fortunate.
The guy to our right only caught 1 trout when I left, and the people to our left had similar luck. We were right on the honey hole. Vince destroyed the fish. He even managed to get a couple trout on the jig in this murky water
The water was ice cold and the clarity is getting better! nows the time to go!!!
I caught all my fish on various powerbait on 18 inch treble with a 10 inch leader.
Scott got his fish on nightcrawlers/pb
Vince go this fish on the jig/pb
