Garcia mitchell 300????

I was fishing awhile ago and i caught this reel in a bag with sa old rod i was what ever i was digging through my garage and found it today and there it was a really old reel; and rod thew rod is a daiwa gold vip something i dunno but there old and i clean them up and it works the old asss reel works after who know how long its been in the salt but yea

do these reels garcia mitchell 300 really last long and do they still make them?

That was the first reel I bought back in the late sixties. It still works great and have caought plenty of Bonito with it, No problems with it, just fresh water rinse ans an occassonal lube, I did have the drags changed once.

The old Mitchell 300 reels were the greatest. Those things are bullet proof and work good. I have a newer one and it does not even compare unfortunately.
