If you are looking for LC's, check out ebay for the Lucky Craft Flashminnow, there about 18-20 bucks a pop. Try the saltwater patterns, sardine, zebra sardine, laser ghost sardine, and some of the bass patterns work pretty good too. Try drop shotting plastics, etc. Good luck

Change up things, try Gulp camo worms.
Those worms catch alot more than Perch. Caught Halibut, Sand Bass, Baby Leopards, WFCs on them.
Carolina rig # 6 or 8 worm hook, 6, 8 lb 2' leader 1/2 oz egg.
Cast out and bump it in a foot every 30 secs or so, unless your in the surf.

see what happens when you don't put in commas and/or periods. it makes us think differently on what you're saying.

If you catch an under-sized fish, make sure you fillet it to REALLY piss the DFG off!

lol,

ok but seriously, making the conversion from "ive been using cut mackeral and shrimp flies for 4 weeks" to drop shot or LC is kind of a leap. do some reading on the "halibut and bass, i guess" you are looking to catch and find out what they normally eat. that way you can have an idea of what kind of bait/presentation/tackle to use.

not that its what you're using, but using something like cut mackeral on 3/0 size shrimp flies and 40lb line with a 4oz sinker might not work for those specific fish...

All fish (well almost all) will take on some sort of live / cut bait. If you're fishing shrimp flies and mackeral your best bets are going to be the Jetty's and piers. Maybe try throwing out some smelt, chovie or squid, try something new. I fish plastics 99% of the time and do pretty well in the harbors, but its because I'm not a fan of "Bait n Wait". Maybe its time to throw plastics? :P

something that is pretty universal is bloodworms (nightcrawlers) there are times ill fish salt one day and nail them out there. then ill go fish fresh the next and keep nailing them. ive never had any problems. but get some more baits, it never hurts to have to much. i like to use the gulp sandworm bait. i do really good with those. also ghost shrimp. trust me dude saltwater is way harder then fresha. a lot more water to cover because well there is way more water in the ocean then lakes. lol either way keep us updated because im courious to see what there biting on out there.
