Saturday, Brandon talks me into hitting the lab with him at about the time I'm usually fast asleep... I sure hoped that it would be worth it... it was! I think...

We both got Bass Trifecta's and a few double hookups. Lost count since several fish were hooked. Mainly Grass Rock Fish, Spotties and Sand Bass... and not a single pesky Lizard Fish!!

The size of these fish and how many we caught kinda reminded me of fishing for Tilapia at Balboa Lake:LOL: Although Brandon took big fish honors with a legal Sand Bass shown below.

We fished this one wall... sling your bait at the wall, let it drop into the water, couple cranks and you were on!... nearly every cast:Cool: Lots of fish weren't lucky enough to get their picture taken.

Nice fishin with you again Brandon!

Cool stuff. Sounds like it was pretty much WFO. Is there anything you are required to have when you tube at night? I just started tubing the salt recently and might want to try going at night once.

Very nice job out there boyz......I've been thinking about launching my tube but the hassle of SW cleanup and all kinda puts the brakes on me. I think I will only go through the hassle if I'm going to make a day thing out of it. I do miss doing halibut drifts with two rods up in Santa Barbara though......That used to be a blast and the eye candy up in SB is 2nd to none!

Oh....Have you guys ever done the Naples Loop at high tide with a steep outgoing....What a ride !!
That whole area gets ZERO pressure compared to NPH !

SW Stripers from MDR to Hermosa.
Should you choose to accept this nearly impossible mission :Death2Above:
SW Stripers should be released in SM bay to get the gene pool coming back.

Yes, lots of fish were caught, the quantity made up for the lack of quality. You should have a headlamp, life vest and whistle or hand held air horn. The lab is mostly deserted at that time of the night/morning. Main thing is safety 1st. You should always wear your pfd when float tubing, because if it's gonna sink, you only have so much time to take action. It wont do you any good to just attach it to your tube behind you.

Ty Steve, it was a nice night. I'm not sure why they dont bite like that during daylight hours. I was warm in my fleece pants and waders so I had no need for a ski mask:LOL:

I don't do the 10p to 4a very often  Not sure about the difference between fresh and salt bass bites.

NICE! damn i wanna get a kayak already!

Thanks tomah, float tubes work better for this type of fishing, we're able to get in to any spot we want.

nice report, and i swear brandon is nuts!!!!all nice and warm on top,,and no waders on the bottom........lol

Brandon is nuts, he's the only person I know that can be in the water that long without waders and not show any sign of freezing his jewels off.

Niceeee! way to nail the bass!

Do you guys ever wonder, "what if my float tube pops and its pitch black?"

Thanks Frank, Ialways wear my pfd and I'm a great swimmer so... no worries here!

Thanks Mike, I've never ventured into the Naples loop... yet! I bet that skinny canal would be fun during a steep in or out going! Might have to plan one just for that!
