Plan was to meet up with feel the steel just before graylight and hit some newer zones that has been paying off for him in these tough conditions. I had baseball tryouts at 9 so I only had a few hours.

First spot and first cast bwam,,, Cutbait is on... 3 seconds later and cutbaits off...

One cast more and feel the peel is on..

Battles this beast on the surface, working it hard. Fish is peeling lots of drag. I drop my rig and run over for some vid footage just as fts pulls the fish up the concrete and the hooks pull.

It was like slow motion watching it flop back in. Gary was chasing it in, and I could see his brain working.. He was thinkin of how to get it back and almost slid in..

Fish was in the 8lb class

We hit a couple other spots for nothing. By this time it was getting close to time for me to leave. Thought I would give the planer board a shot to see what it can do.

Worked great! Hit the otherside at walking speed, which is what I think I need to run at. I didn't get to fish with it but will be doing so soon.

Sorry the vid was short. Battery died.

Talked with FTS couple hours later and he had farmed 3-4 more fish.

It was a tough day with that dirty water. We're accrediting the farmed fish to the stained water..

Makes us feel better anyway

I have been meaning to try out a planing bobber for like 3 years now but never got serious enough about it to experiment and buy one. It seems like a neat idea and take on a planer board. You can see it here. http://www.bulletbobber.com/ . If anyone else tries it out before me, please post up some results. It has always intrigued me but just never actually got down to trying it.
