So I had the day off, and asked Johnny if he was up to letting me drive his boat since i'm still shopping-
he oblidged and let me get us on with the Troll...
Johnny got to the lake early and already had 2 2lb Rainbows on board...i knew the bite was gona be even better. I took us through a few different locations that were new to trolling that were holding some of the big units...and lost one of my favorite Rapala lures upon doing so.
Upon heading over to the shore my Daiwa Spinmatic screeeams almost like the last one that took my Rapala..this time i had it locked...then the fish jumped out of the water about 2'-4' about 3-4 times! and it crossed our lines to the back...a few other trollers probably saw us get into this crazy mess...felt like Tred Barta in the ocean lolz...Fought it for about 3-5minutes...and landed a 7.0 on the Rapala Scale! Beauty- seemed/fought like steelhead pics later...
After that adrenaline rush, we were back on the troll...we fished throughout the day and found other new spots, we landed various 2-4lbrs which were great fights using lures from the Vine Tackleshop like Daiwa SC Shiner Pink, Luhr Jensen and Spros... we were both already pleased with the day of trolling...then Johnny asked me another lure...I then recommended another Rapala and he set it out...I told him we had about 30 minutes left and i would do one of my new runs...then BAM..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZ goes his drags!! I looked up and his rod was almost shoe-horned back into the water like my earlier 7.0 did...i cleared out all the lines, because i could tell it was another nice one...but didnt know if it were fouled hooked, so we played it cool...then i saw it break WATER!...A NICE RAINBOW! it did some runs and Johnny tired it out, and i was able to net it...just then Jerry came by and said 15minutes til closing!
We went to the scales and brought up our stringer...I stuck mine on the scale and it had lost some ounces as it came out to 6.08lbs...we put Johnnys Rainbow up and weight 9.0lbs! We then put the rest of the fish up and it tallied up to about 35+lbs!
Best Trolling Day yet!
