FYI - I just talked with the folks at Alpers and while this was unfortunate, it was not in any way substantial enough of a loss to impact fish stocking operations - plenty of fish to buy for 2011. Wooo.

SOME good news at least, Smitty. Good old LADWP, being a speedbump on the autobahn as usual.

Good to hear it's not a total loss. 8,000 fish and $70,000.00 seems like it would be a huge hit. They must have lot's of trout out there.

Apparently it was only one of at least 8 raceways....not something to celebrate, but nothing to freak out about either (even if I kinda did at first hahaha).

Wow, 8 dollars a fish? I wonder how much $ it cost the DFG?

$8 per fish is nothing - most of us pay nearly that per pound for live trout. The DFG produces fish at a much lower cost than Alpers.
